LoanSense for AI assistants Beta
Ask Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant that supports MCP about your loan, and it works out the answer with the same engine as these calculators: EMIs, prepayment savings, rate changes, offers, eligibility and when you'll be debt-free. Free, with no sign-up.
Connector URL
https://loansense.in/api/mcp
A remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). No login or API key: choose no authentication if your assistant asks. This is a Labs feature: it may change, and you can hide it on Labs.
Add it to your assistant
Menu names change between app versions; look for Connectors, Apps or MCP servers in the settings.
Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile apps)
- Open Settings, then Connectors (on some versions it's under Customize).
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it LoanSense, paste the connector URL and choose Add. Leave the OAuth fields empty.
- In a chat, turn LoanSense on from the tools menu and ask about your loan.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, and turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings. It needs a paid plan, and on Business or Enterprise an admin may have to allow it.
- Choose Create (or Add custom connector), name it LoanSense, paste the connector URL and set authentication to None.
- In a chat, pick LoanSense from the tools menu.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http loansense https://loansense.in/api/mcpVS Code (GitHub Copilot)
Add this to .vscode/mcp.json in your project, or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette:
{
"servers": {
"loansense": { "type": "http", "url": "https://loansense.in/api/mcp" }
}
}
Cursor, Windsurf and other clients
Add a remote (HTTP) MCP server named loansense with the connector URL. In Cursor, that's ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"loansense": { "url": "https://loansense.in/api/mcp" }
}
}
Things to ask
- What is the EMI on a ₹50 lakh home loan at 8.5% for 20 years, and how much interest will I pay?
- I can prepay ₹2 lakh every year on my home loan. Should I reduce the tenure or the EMI?
- My bank is raising my home loan rate from 8.5% to 9% next month. What does that do to my loan?
- The car dealer offers 5.5% flat for 5 years; my bank offers 9.25% with a 0.5% fee. Which is cheaper on ₹8 lakh?
- What is 7% flat for 3 years as a reducing rate?
- I take home ₹1.5 lakh a month and pay a ₹10,000 car EMI. How big a home loan can I get?
- I owe ₹40 lakh at 9.5% with 15 years left. Is moving to 8.5% worth ₹30,000 in charges?
- I want to finish my 20-year home loan in 10 years. How much more do I need to pay?
- Should I prepay ₹5 lakh on my 8.5% home loan or invest it at 12%?
- Make me a detailed PDF report of this plan in Tamil.
PDF reports
Every answer comes with a link to the plan on LoanSense, and your assistant can offer a PDF report: a summary (loan details, insights, charts and the yearly schedule, usually 3 pages) or a detailed report (every EMI, totals by financial year, flat vs reducing, the amount to close early, prepayment, tenure and rate options, a checklist before you sign and a glossary). Reports are available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.
- Ask for a report, or say yes when your assistant offers one. You can ask for particular sections or a language.
- Open the link. Your plan loads on LoanSense with the report ready to print.
- Tap Print / save as PDF and choose Save as PDF as the printer. On an iPhone, tap Share in the print screen, then Save to Files.
The report is made by your own browser, so nothing about your loan is stored on a server, and the service stays free.
Tools
All tools only calculate: they read nothing from your accounts and change nothing.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Calculate a loancalculate_loan | EMI, total interest, end date and insights for a loan: when principal overtakes interest, when half is repaid, the true rate with the processing fee, the flat/reducing equivalent, and what one extra EMI a year or a 5% yearly EMI rise saves. Includes a yearly schedule. |
| Plan a prepaymentplan_prepayment | Effect of a one-time, recurring or yearly EMI step-up prepayment, comparing reduce tenure with reduce EMI, the saving per rupee prepaid, and how much less the same lump sum saves five years later. |
| Apply a rate changeapply_rate_change | Effect of one or more floating-rate changes (e.g. an RBI repo-rate move on an EBLR loan): keep the EMI and change the tenure, or change the EMI and keep the end date. Warns about negative amortisation and gives the rate at which the EMI stops covering interest. |
| Compare loan offerscompare_offers | Rank two or three loan offers (flat or reducing, with fees) on the same amount by true rate including fees, with EMI, total interest and total cost. |
| Convert flat and reducing ratesconvert_flat_reducing | Convert a flat rate to its reducing-balance equivalent and back, and compare a flat and a reducing quote on the same loan. |
| Check loan eligibilitycheck_eligibility | Maximum EMI and loan amount from income (the FOIR method Indian lenders use), whether the chosen loan fits, and for home loans the property price to target. |
| Evaluate a balance transferevaluate_balance_transfer | Whether moving a loan to a lower rate pays off after switching costs: lower EMI or same EMI and finish sooner, net saving and months to recover the costs. |
| Plan a debt-free dateplan_debt_free | What it takes to finish a loan by a target month (extra EMI, an upfront prepayment or a yearly lump sum), and the effect of paying a fixed amount extra every month. |
| Prepay or investcompare_prepay_vs_invest | Compare prepaying a lump sum with investing it, on the date the loan would have ended, with the break-even investment return. |
| Get a PDF report linkget_report_link | A link to a printable LoanSense report for a plan: a summary (loan details, insights, charts, yearly schedule) or a detailed report (every EMI, financial-year totals, flat vs reducing, closing amounts, prepayment, tenure and rate options, other tools, checklist, glossary). The user opens it and saves it as a PDF from the browser. Pass the inputs of every tool the report should cover. |
| List loan typeslist_loan_types | The loan types LoanSense covers, with their calculator pages, whether each is usually floating-rate and its usual maximum tenure, plus the current RBI repo rate, the report sections and the languages available. It gives no example figures: ask the user for theirs. |
Questions
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools. LoanSense runs an MCP server, so an assistant can calculate your loan with the LoanSense engine instead of doing the maths itself, which language models often get wrong.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, with no sign-up, login or API key. Your assistant's own plan decides whether you can add connectors.
Which assistants work with it?
Any assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server over HTTP: Claude (web, desktop and mobile), ChatGPT with developer mode, Claude Code, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf and others.
Is my loan information stored?
No. The server only calculates and returns the result; it keeps no logs of your figures and has no database. The links it returns carry the plan inside the link itself, and the PDF report is made by your own browser.
How accurate are the answers?
They come from the same engine as the LoanSense calculators: the reducing-balance EMI method Indian lenders use, with interest worked out monthly on the outstanding balance. The tools never guess: if a figure such as the rate or tenure is missing, your assistant asks you for it before calculating. Lenders' figures can differ slightly because of rounding and broken-period interest.
Why does the PDF open in my browser?
To keep the service free and private, reports aren't made on a server. The link opens your plan on LoanSense with the report ready, and your browser saves it as a PDF. The report is the same one the Print / PDF button makes on the calculator.
Can I get the report in my language?
Yes. Ask for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada or Bengali and the report link opens in that language. Numbers keep English digits with lakh and crore, as on bank statements.
Prefer to do it yourself?
Every calculator the assistant uses is here too, with charts and the full schedule.
